The LogFileLevel directive belongs in the client configuration file, bbackupd.conf. It allows controlling the level of detail logged to the log file specified by the LogFile directive, independently of the level that applies to other loggers (info or notice by default, modified by command-line options).

LogFileLevel defaults to the same level as other system logging, i.e. info for debug builds or notice for release builds. It can be set to any of the following, without interfering with the settings for console and system logging:

  • nothing, fatal, error, warning, notice, info, trace, everything

Message at or above the specified level will be logged.

See LogFile for an example of how this can be used to generate reports at the end of a backup.
